Designed in 1907 by architect François Hemelsoet, this townhouse had undergone several transformations, adding layer upon layer, covering up the original beauty and structure. A thorough renovation was needed before we could begin to design forward. The process unfolded in an organic, dialectical way; while restoring the old elements, like the caryatids in the entrance hall, the stained glass and Carrara marble stairs, ideas and inspiration for new ones emerged.
